Q&A

Q1. I am not flexible but I want to practice Yoga. Can I join classes?

MARI Yoga: I believe that everyday practice will help you to bring better flexibility. If you have not even started a practice, how could you be flexible?
Do not worry about your flexibility right now - leave your expectations outside of the class door. You will not be asked to make poses like those Yoga masters are doing!
Yoga is not about making poses - there is much more in Yoga.
Honestly, I am not flexible but I practice everyday, listen to what my body can do, I think about my practice as a life-long learning process.
A little note: everyone has different range of motions, flexibility and body characteristics. It is important to understand what your body is capable to do in order to enhance a balanced condition.

Q2. Is Yoga something to do with religion?

MARI Yoga: Yoga has been existing for more than 5000 years, originated in India. Yoga Asana was created in order to build strength to sit for a long time to meditate. In modern times styles of Yoga Asana practice have adjusted to our lifestyle so that more people can benefit from it.
